The Good That Comes With Active Alignment

By Maritza Conrad

The automotive and manufacturing industries have changed a lot over the past decades and one of changes has been making them digital. Digitization has helped raise the level of safety greatly. Active alignment which is done using computers has been the major contributing factor to these changes.

Nowadays automobiles come installed with actively aligned cameras that show the driver everything taking place near the vehicle. A monitor is placed on the dashboard to enable the driver see everything as it happens. Infrared night vision is also incorporated so that the cameras can be of use at night just as they are during the day.

It has been a way for many drivers to make wise decisions in difficult situations. The cameras issue warnings of pedestrians and vehicles that are very close to the vehicle. Drivers have been able to avoid accidents largely this way. Cars that are actively aligned are ones that have the least number of accidents.

Also incorporated in the system are sensors that take control of the vehicle if the driver becomes unable to. The car can be forced to brake automatically or if an accident occurs then the airbags automatically pop out. There is also an analog video recorder that saves everything that the cameras capture so that it can be referenced by crash scene investigators.

To actively align manufacturing processes, both single channel and planar photonic systems are used. Optimal performance products are easily acquired because dynamic adjustment can be made on various manufacturing processes. The risks that factory workers used to be exposed to when making changes have also been greatly reduced.

Through this method, very small measurements and adjustments can easily be made to the system. It has also improved products performance by a great margin. active alignment is also cheaper than a passive one is especially in the long run.
