Microsoft SQL Server continues growing its market share as the bedrock of Microsoft's push to integrate Business Intelligence (BI) inside company environments. Passing the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Planning, Optimizing and Maintaining examination will validate your ability to implement and support this growing market segment. On successful completing of this examination and Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance (70-432) candidates receive Microsoft Certificated IT Professional (MCITP) Database Director 2008, Implementation and Maintenance. Microsoft Certificated Technology Expert for SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Upkeep is the only prerequisite for this examination. This 2 exam track is among the shortest to Microsoft's new Licensed IT Pro standing. The alternative SQL MCITP tracks are Database Developer 2008 and Business Intelligence Developer 2008. There are no overlapping exams between these 3 tracks.

The audience for the 70-450 examination is IT professionals with at least three years of database administration experience in an enterprise environment. Applicants should be comfy designing, employing, optimizing, maintaining, and supporting databases and database servers.

Examination Details

Number of questions: Microsoft does not officially release the amount of questions about the exam, but previous applicants who've taken the examination typically report answering between 40 and 50 questions.

Sort of questions: This test is composed of multiple choice questions and multiple answer questions. You most likely won't encounter simulation questions or drag and drop. (Microsoft does not release this info and the length or format of the examination is subject to change without notice.)

Passing Score: 700 out of 1000

Time Limit: roughly 2 hours
